India Mysore Nugget
Price range: 4.45 € through 29.78 € excl. VAT
Monsooned, highly versatile Arabica from India, with a unique character and a slightly spicy note of spices and nuts.
India is famous for tea rather than coffee, but it is worth knowing that it ranks 7th in global coffee production, including Robusta. Mysore Nugget beans are a proud example of just how different one coffee can be from another, and how distinctive its flavour and aroma can be.
Indian coffees sit somewhere between lightly acidic African Arabicas and nutty, chocolatey American Arabicas. In addition, the monsooning process gives them a truly unique character. To “dry” the beans, they are placed in warehouses without side walls, where humid monsoon winds dry them for 12–16 weeks. You can read more about monsooning coffee in India below.
This is a very good coffee — not as “heavy” as Indonesian Arabicas and appreciated for many years. Its flavour and aroma, shaped by the monsoon processing method, cannot be mistaken for any other Arabica: minimal acidity, a rich bouquet of spices and nuts, a hint of citrus and a delicately spicy edge make Indian coffee hugely popular in Europe for centuries.
A truly Indian blend!
