4.54 € – 5.48 € excl. VAT
Gun Powder is a green tea, mostly cultivated in Chinese Zhejiang province. Its named Gun Powder, because of its look, it has a really tightly rolled leaves, which look like small grey-green pellets. However, it’s not the only interesting feature of this tea: during its first brewing (it can be brewed several times) the “pellets” open up with a characteristic cracking noises.
Gun Powder is a strong and intense tea. After the frst brew (if it takes too long) it might be a bit bitter, but after that, the next brews are going to be bitterless.
In China, Gun Powder is known as “zhu cha”, which means “pearl tea” – of course its a reference to its look. As an interesting fact, we can say that Gun Powder is traditionally used in north Africa for a mint tea, they also add honey or sugar.
