Mexico Maragogype

Maragogype, also called “elephant coffee”. Universal Arabica with gigantic beans and exceptionally sweet aroma.

It’s a variety coming from Mexico Chiapas region, which right now is dominating Mexico in terms of coffee cultivation. This coffee has a really large beans – their length can exceed up to 2,5cm. Besides its incredible visuals, Maragogype has a very low acidity, it’s rich in sweet aromas and dominant vanilla-honey notes.

Even though Maragogype originated from Brazil province Bahia, it’s believed that the best beans come from Mexico, thanks to its climate and soils – this Arabica has higher requirements (comparing to other Arabicas) in terms of soil and it’s hard to grow.  It’s always harvested manually.

It’s a very universal Arabica – we mostly recommend it to people who like sweet taste of a coffee, regardless of its roasting level. It’s great from both overflow coffee makers and espresso machines.
